"Hi Carmen

I hope that you guys are doing well.
I just thought that I would drop you a line to tell you how well Zara is doing. She has settled in with the others quite well now. I have given her a haircut and have been banding her mane. She is growing like a weed and has almost grown out of the halter that you left for us.

She has such a sweet and loving personality. When she sees me she comes to me even if she might be across the field. She follows me around like a puppy dog. There have been a few times when I have been out without her halter and needing to get her I just let her follow me right into her stall. She truly reminds me of the Bedouins (I know that I misspelled that...spell check was no help either haha) stories of horses sleeping in tents and watching over those that care for them.

I have never had or really even been around a straight Egyptian before. I was really a little worried about the stereotypical straight Egyptian. But she has a great head on her. She is smart and she has never really spooked at anything.

I have been working with her a little on some halter. So smart she has picked it up faster than any other that I have worked on. Although she does like to creep...haha I have got to fix that.

Anyway sorry about the long email...just sitting on the porch drinking coffee watching them in the paddock and thought that I would send you an email to let you know how well she was doing.

Thank you for giving us such a great opportunity to have such a truly wonderful horse. I am so excited about her and can't wait to show her.

You have given me such a wonderful opportunity with her and Santos. Santos is coming along well too. I have been doing some collection exercises with him trying to round him better. Also I have gotten his head up some. I am so excited about having them and I think that they are going to be a force in the ring.
Thanks so much again.

Jennifer"

When I left the horses I missed them so much. I had always been intrigued with reining so I got a couple of quarter horses to try my hand at reining and while I love them and have had a great time with them they are just not the same as the Arabs. Nothing makes that more evident than watching them out in the pasture especially in the big field. Haha Santos has a such a good time. He absolutely loves to run and play. He prances around showing off letting everyone how pretty he is and now Zara is right behind him. They literally run circles around the two quarter horses. Haha

Santos is doing so well. I can't wait to show him hopefully next year. He is still a little green but he is so consistent so I think that he is ready for more advanced work. So I have really been trying to work on his frame and collection to round him more. I really think that he will be a great.

Hopefully I can get Zara ready to be shown next year too. She is still such a baby so I have just been working on her a couple days a week. She is so funny. She tries so hard to please.

They are both such a joy and I am so excited about both of them.

Yes I am so sorry that I missed your call I was cooking dinner and the next time that I picked the phone up it was after nine when Ellie had gone to bed. I thought that might be to late to call you back. I have been cutting grass until about then for the past few days. I have been trying to get everything cut before we get a frost.

We did make it to the Music City Show. It was very disappointing. It was very small with only a few decent horses there. It did help though to be able to see some of the classes.

Look toward to talking to you.

Hello, Carmen.

I hope all is well with you. I check out your web site periodically, and I am pleased to see how well Strike has been doing. You have some beautiful horses.

I wanted to share with you what a fabulous trail horse Tango Tango has become. She had only foundation training, but it was with an exceptional trainer, now training at the national level in Florida. Not only is she beautiful, but Tango is so responsive and soft that I can easily ride her with a rope around her neck and no bit. She is brave, bold, loyal, and extremely willing. I have 6 of my own horses now, not including 2 rescues, and she continues to be one of my top choices for riding these mountain trails. Here is a photo of us this past Sunday. I just can't tell you how much I love this girl!

Oh - she is a BITCH in the pasture! She has wanted to be the alpha horse since she was a year old, and lets everyone know her aspirations. I think she would be much happier living in the house than the barn. She and Remy (aka Kramer) are always grooming one another, and I am convinced she's 'sleeping with the boss' to advance her career.
